The Commission for the Clarification of Truth (CEV) faces the challenge of investigating the role of corporate complicity in human rights violations committed during Colombia’s armed conflict.
This issue is crucial, as judicial and academic evidence shows that such involvement was not isolated, and international experiences confirm that truth commissions can play a key role in uncovering these links—at least 22 commissions worldwide have done so.
The report aims to provide strategic guidelines for the CEV to address this issue in a planned and sensitive manner. It was developed after two years of joint research between the University of Oxford and Dejusticia, to offer empirical information that supports the Commission’s decision-making process.
